About

Business operations meets rigorous analytics.

My name is Khepera Walker, and I'm a results-driven data analyst passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights — across the advertising, marketing, and logistics industries.

My path runs through operations: I started as a logistics coordinator at ITG Transportation, taught myself advanced Excel for logistics calculations, and transitioned into a Data Analyst role — creating calculations, pivot tables, and reports presented directly to the CEO, Sales, and Executive teams. Today, as a Marketing Analyst at Flowers Communications Group, I support the Illinois Lottery's event marketing team with profit analysis, giveaway ratios, and executive dashboards built with SQL, DAX, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.

My core toolkit is Power BI, SQL, Python, and Excel — paired with descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analysis to improve business outcomes. I completed the Data Analytics & Visualization program at Northeastern Illinois University and hold a B.S. in Business Administration from Florida A&M University.

Experience

Where I've applied it

2024–Present

Marketing Analyst

Flowers Communications Group | Integrated Marketing Firm

Hired as a contractor to assist the Illinois Lottery's event marketing team as a Marketing Analyst. Provided profit analysis, giveaway ratios, and event attendance insights across General Market, Public Affairs, and Retail departments. Communicated weekly with department managers, vendors, and event coordinators to extract sales, profit, demographic, and giveaway data for analysis. Loaded and modeled data using DAX and SQL calculations to create executive dashboards, KPI reports, and performance insights. Utilized SQLite to calculate and model the data and Microsoft Fabric to transform said data into Power BI visualizations.

2016–2023

How I Work

Principles behind the analysis

01

Start with the business question

Every analysis begins with the decision it needs to support — not with the data that happens to be available.

02

Make it understandable

A finding only matters if a non-technical stakeholder can grasp it. I design reports and dashboards for the people who use them.

03

Automate the repeatable

Recurring manual reporting is replaced with refreshable models and dashboards, freeing time for actual analysis.

04

Decisions over dashboards

The goal is never a prettier chart — it's a clearer, faster, better-informed business decision.
